A native of Laurel, Mississippi, I received Bachelor and Master of
Music degrees from Louisiana State University, where my teacher was
Earnest Harrison. Other teachers included Louis Rosenblatt and Raymond
Weaver. I have attended master classes of Richard Woodhams, Robert Bloom
and Evelyn Rothwell.
I currently am principal oboist of the Granite State Opera, and also
perform with the Cantabile Winds, a woodwind quintet. I have
held the position of principal oboist of the Nashua, Granite State, Cape
Ann, Delaware and Lancaster Symphonies, Pennsylvania Opera Theater and OperaDelaware. I have performed as English hornist of the Reading and
Baton Rouge Symphonies. I have also performed with many groups around
New England and Philadelphia, such as the Boston Ballet, Orchestra of
Indian Hill, Symphony by the Sea, Lexington Sinfonietta, Handel Society of Dartmouth, Harmonie
(a woodwind octet), Portland and Springfield Symphonies, and Pro Arte
Chamber Orchestra.
I have performed as a soloist with the
Nashua, Granite State, Cape Ann, Delaware, and Lancaster Symphonies.
Solos performed include concerti by Albinoni, Bach, Bellini, Copland,
Donizetti, Haydn,
Hummel, Martinu, Mozart, R. Strauss, Telemann, and Vaughn Williams.
I have recorded Rossini’s opera “Zelmira” with Harmonie, and has also
recorded with Native Tongues (Bonnie Insull, flute and Jose Lezcano,
guitar) on their recording “Passports.”
I teach privately in Lexington, Massachusetts and in my home.
